I took this photograph in June 2012. I had headed out at 5 am and headed up the coast to explore. Southern Shores is north of Kill Devil Hills and south of Corolla in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I love the shadow of the sand fences and the little puffy clouds.

I have been an artist as long as I can remember. My specialty is pastel portraits, although I also paint in oils. I bought a camera in 2011 to capture images to paint from and fell in love with photography. Taking photos has become a passion on its own. I am originally from Georgia but moved to High Country NC in 2016. I live just a few miles off the Blue Ridge Parkway and love taking mountain pictures. I take my camera and ride to explore new places and photograph everything in sight. I am like a child and get excited about a mountain view or sometimes just a flower blooming.
